Skip Jackson, independent insurance broker for Medicare plans in Georgia
Clear answers and an honest comparison of your Medicare plan choices.
I compare plans from the insurance companies I represent side by side, check your doctors and prescriptions against each one, and help you enroll. There's no cost for my help, and no pressure to choose anything.
Meet by phone, video, or in person. Calls about Medicare Advantage and Part D plans are recorded, as Medicare requires.
Annual Enrollment runs October 15 to December 7 each year. It's when you can join, switch, or drop a Medicare Advantage or Part D drug plan for the coming year.

Enroll, if you choose
If a plan fits, I help you apply and make sure nothing is missed.
Review every year
Plans change each fall. I check yours against your needs before Annual Enrollment.
The three kinds of coverage we'll compare.
Most people choose between Medicare Advantage and Original Medicare with a Supplement. Part D covers prescriptions.
Medicare Advantage
Plans from private insurance companies that replace Original Medicare for your Part A and Part B coverage. Most include drug coverage and use a network of doctors. Some include extra benefits, such as dental or vision.
Medicare Supplement
Also called Medigap. These plans work alongside Original Medicare and help pay costs like deductibles and coinsurance. You can see any doctor nationwide who accepts Medicare.
Part D drug plans
Stand-alone prescription coverage for people with Original Medicare. Each plan has its own list of covered drugs and pharmacies, so we check yours.
Enrollment dates
When you can sign up or make changes.
Medicare has set windows each year. Missing one can mean waiting months or paying a late penalty.
Annual Enrollment October 15 to December 7, for everyone with Medicare
Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment January 1 to March 31, if you're in a Medicare Advantage plan
General Enrollment January 1 to March 31, if you missed signing up for Part A or Part B
Turning 65? Your Initial Enrollment Period is 7 months long: it starts 3 months before the month you turn 65 and ends 3 months after. Some life events, like moving or losing other coverage, open a Special Enrollment Period. See all enrollment dates

Because I'm independent, I can compare plans from more than one company. Which plans are available depends on your county.

- HealthSpring
- Aetna
- United

- Devoted Health

Questions people ask first.
Does it cost anything to work with you?
No. There is no charge for my help. Like most Medicare brokers, I'm paid by the insurance company if you enroll in a plan. A plan's premium is the same whether you enroll through me, through the insurance company, or through Medicare.gov.
Are you part of Medicare or the government?
No. I'm a licensed, independent insurance agent. I'm not connected with Medicare, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), or Social Security. For official information, visit Medicare.gov or call 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227; TTY 1-877-486-2048), 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Can I keep my doctors?
It depends on the coverage. With Original Medicare and a Supplement, you can see any provider in the country who accepts Medicare. Most Medicare Advantage plans use networks, so I check your doctors before you choose.
What happens when we meet?
Before we discuss specific Medicare Advantage or Part D plans, Medicare rules require us to agree on and record the topics we'll cover. This is called a Scope of Appointment. It's done in writing for in-person meetings or recorded on a phone call, and it can be done the same day. You're never obligated to enroll, and you can end the conversation at any time.
